Dating Apps 2019: which one is for you
A short but extensive evaluation of the best trending dating apps of 2019
So how does one choose the best dating apps of 2019? My test was simple. Try out as many dating apps as possible within the space of 3 months and report back with results and write a review for each them. I classified them as standard, alternatives and paid. I hope you will find this article useful and in the future I will report back with more dating apps. Please don’t forget to send me your own dating apps experiences in our contact tab.

Status: Standard Rating:

The Gist: Needs no introduction since it’s the most popular dating app in the world for both millennials and non-millennials. It’s user friendly and has 3.8 million subscribers which means a pretty huge pool of possible matches.

The Verdict: It’s a good app to start experimenting with. You will learn what you should and shouldn’t include in your profile and get to go on several dates. I wouldn’t suggest the paying option as you have better dating apps to spend your money on.

Status: Standard Rating:

The Gist: The second most popular app, colorful and fun. There is a plot twist though, only women can start the conversation which essentially gives them the control, for a change. Although it turns the pressure up as we only have 24hrs to reply back.

The Verdict: I enjoyed this particular app a lot, as usually the pressure is on the man to make the move but with this one the ball is in the ladies’ court for a change. You have a rejection risk, as she is the one to initiate contact. Also, it’s entirely free which is a total win.

Status: Alternative Rating:

The Gist: The smartest branding of them all. Every match is a bagel and you are the coffee looking for the bagel you need. Around noon every day you are sent up to 21 bagels (i.e matches) and you can choose whether you will have it or not. Then the app will try to find the best matches for women based on how many guys clicked LIKE for her and if she likes you, she will click on you and the rest is history.

The Verdict: If you are an indecisive person or you can’t be bothered to go on tons of dates, then this is the app for you. Quick, smart, with good graphics and a lot of success stories too. I personally enjoyed it because of its practicality.

The Gist: The only way you can create a profile for this app is after you’ve dated someone who is already on the site. Sounds confusing? You have to have at least one person's phone number that is on the app and log it in. That person receives an invitation from the App to either verify you or remove you. If they do verify you, they can post only one anonymous review for you. If they want to input more, then their real name will appear. The creators wanted to create a TripAdvisor for people, where your exes can rate you. And even includes a star rating system.
A smart approach to online dating as many times online profiles can be misleading. Rather than wasting your time on a psycho, you read a review about her and you dodge the bullet. You wouldn’t go to a restaurant without reading a review, right? Why not have the same for people and save yourself some time.
Exes can be vindictive and write horrible reviews just because you never called back. A date can go wrong for many reasons but in this app you only hear one side of the story. Maybe a girl won’t give you a chance or you won’t give her one because an idiot took revenge for a lousy date. Also, if you’re married, engaged or simply in a relationship and a girl catches up with that, I must warn you she will post it on your profile and your dating chances will be slim.
Since it’s a paid app, it almost guarantees that you will find a match. They do go out of their way to keep you informed and provide lots of tips. Most dating apps are for younger people and this is a great alternative if you are over 30.
I don’t believe in the whole idea of paying per month. What if a lot of time goes by without a match? You will be paying in vain. I also feel it’s very elitist and offensive to constantly boast your educated singles. It diminishes all the people who couldn’t afford an education and indirectly sends the message that they are undatable.
Easy to use. Almost guaranteed success. Huge pool of candidates. There is quality of members as well as value for money. Also, it’s quite a safe app to use. They continually improve their algorithm based on customer feedback. New features constantly added and extensive search opportunities.
Site approval is not instant. The cost to have the app is not standard and in comparison to other paying apps, it costs more. To go from offline to online can take ages.

The Verdict: If you are kind of person who wants to have a lot of information about your potential date beforehand this app is for you. But be aware that anything you do on the date will end up online as a review and even worse your performance will be rated. This dating app is only for the courageous.

Status: Paid Rating:

The Gist: A paid dating site which boasts constantly that they have over 82% college grads. They push the idea that their singles are educated to the point that is annoying. Most of their member are around 35-55 so it’s a good option for non-millennials.

The Verdict: I feel there are better paying apps out there. Or you can start with a free app which later adds the paid feature in order to achieve more. Also, I feel it’s not suitable for a new dating app user.

Status: Paid Rating:

The Gist: One of the older sites, counting more than 23 successful years. It offers a variety of encounters from casual sex to long-term relationships. Their algorithm offers options you haven’t initially inputted in. For instances, if you constantly check out red-haired women but you said you like brunettes, the site will suggest some brunettes as well.

The Verdict: Definitely worth a try. You can gain valuable learning experience on how to create an iconic profile, which you can later use on other apps.

A funky person who likes change. Loves travelling, photography, eating and binge-watching shows. Favorite pastime is eating and of course uploading pictures of fancy food on Instagram. Sings out loud when she is writing and loves reading crime novels.
