From long-awaited sequels to gripping new standalones, 2019 is set to be a fantastic year for movies and culture that you’re not going to want to miss.
So grab a box of popcorn, a soda and the best seat in the house and enjoy some time for you this year as you enjoy all that the world of film has to offer.
These are just some of the Best New Movies of 2019 that just can’t be missed:
Hellboy – April 2019
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2274648/
Hellboy is a film at the very top of my movie list for 2019. The legendary half-demon superhero based on the Dark Horse Comics is back, and this time he's fighting Nimue the Blood Queen, a resurrected sorceress hell-bent on seeking revenge for past betrayals.
Hellboy, played by David Harbour, is lulled to the English countryside to deal with the small issue of a pack of angery giants only to discover Nimue thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Can the superhero demon stop Nimue without triggering the end of the world? We’re going to have to wait until mid-April to find out.
This film is everything I hope for in a film, from rampaging giants to a half-demon superhero intend on saving the world. Hopefully, Hellboy is going to keep me on the edge of my seat from the opening screen until the credits.
Men in Black International – June 2019
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2283336/
Some of the most Iconic Men are back in Men in Black International this June as they fight to protect Earth from the biggest threat they are yet to face, a mole from within their own organization. While there has not been a great deal announced about this film is only adds to my anticipation and excitement for its release.
With a new team of agents on the case, including Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth best known for his role as Thor, Men in Black International is shaping up to be the best Men in Black yet.

The Lion King – July 2019
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6105098/
The Lion King is the newest Disney film to get a live-action reboot and after what feels like a never ending wait we are only months away from its premier. The story is set to follow in the same vein as the original animated version following Simba and his exile after The Battle of Pride Rock. With the help of new friends, Simba grows from a cub into a lion truly worthy of being called a king and fights to take back the throne and lands that are rightfully his.
The true magic of this film for me is going to be the live-action element and one that I cannot wait to see, from the stunning landscapes to fierce action scenes featuring real lions.
What Men Want – March 2019
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7634968/
What Men Want is a must-watch comedy this spring that left my face hurting after a full two hours of laughing in the cinema. Ali Davis is a successful sports agent who is repeatedly ‘boxed out’ by male colleagues until she meets a psychic and she gains the ability to read men’s thoughts. With her new found powers, Ali is constantly one step ahead of the game, signing the next big star before her colleagues get a chance.
If you’re looking for a lighthearted, fun film to chill out to after a long week at the office I can’t recommend this film highly enough.
Gemini Man – October 2019
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1025100/
Gemini Man is an action-thriller starring Will Smith as Henry Brogan, an elite assassin who’s getting a little too old for such a destructive lifestyle and is looking for a way out. Life is never that simple; however, as Henry comes face-to-face with a young operative who is able to predict his every move. Seeking answers, Henry pursues the mysterious operative only to discover that he is, in fact, a younger clone of himself.
Gemini Man still has a while until its release so information about the actual plot is somewhat limited but it is shaping up to one of the biggest releases of the year featuring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong and one that is going to end 2019 on a movie high.
