Cool Outdoor Sports you must-try in 2019
Outdoor Activities all iconic men must try out in 2019. You will feel alive and energized and look cool in front of the ladies
The perks of being outdoors are countless: good for your health, an interesting fitness alternative, great for your mental wealth and more. Instead of investing on sports gear for indoor activities, I would suggest purchasing the necessary equipment and go to the great outdoors. You can make a day trip when exercising your activity and most of the activities listed below are great adrenaline boosts.
The activities listed below vary: from expensive to cheap, from scary to totally safe, this list is for everyone. Scroll below and let us know what new Outdoor Activity you will try in 2019.
Probably the easiest activity, no exceptional fitness is needed and a great group activity. Is also a cheap alternative holiday. The best part is that you will only need to buy the equipment once and then you’re set for life. You can camp in all types of camp spaces (from super deluxe to completely freestyle). Or if you are feeling more adventurous you can go anywhere really and set up camp. Always, with respect to the environment (that means picking up your trash), is an amazing way to get closer to nature and maybe see some wild animals up and close.
An alternative to regular camping, this one requires a little bit of expertise. The equipment is not a lot different but you do need better hanging ropes to go Tree Camping. If you want to feel like floating on air or simply don’t like sleeping on the ground. This alternative is for you. Don’t forget you though you need to hang your tent on the strong trees and be careful where to place the hooks. Also, you can’t have many people in the tend but it can be quite romantic going with your girlfriend.
This type of camping is for adrenaline junkies. You definitely have to be an experienced camper and is a lot more risque to have more than one person in the tent. You need to have a good fitness level since you will have to hike up and be strong enough to hang a tent on the edge of a cliff. The gear is specific and you will need to sleep tied on a rope, is a necessary precaution measure. The view though is spectacular and you will get a lot of fresh air and excitement from hanging off the edge.
Caving is exploring caves. People of all sizes and ages can do it, unless one cave has a super small entrance. Some caves require more experience or a specific gear and before embarking on going caving you should check out all the information available for the said cave. As an activity is not dangerous, unless there a sudden incident (for instance the heavy waterfall in the Thailand cave which trapped the 12 young boys). It generally requires basic outdoor gear such as: proper shoes, waterproof jacket, enough food supply etc. the best way to do it with an experienced guide, he will know where to go, advise you on how to step in slippery places and calm you down if you suddenly get claustrophobic.
Hiking is an old time classic and an amazing fitness exercise. The perks are countless: fresh air, great cardio, beautiful views etc. If you are beginner you can start slow with a short trail on even ground. A good pair of hiking boots and a set of poles are enough for regular hikers. There are countless hiking groups and you can join one to meet fellow hikers as well as to make the experience safer and more pleasurable. You can make a trip out of it and camp. Plus, if you want to go to Grand Canyon or Machu Picchu you will need some training beforehand so start practicing.
This an extreme level of hiking. You need to be at least mid-level hiker to do it and you should go with a guide (if it’s a new glacier). Ice is slippery and dangerous, unlike snow. You will need an axe and more specific gear. The experience is liberating although exhausting. The views are insane but be aware you will need crampons and you will have to stomp hard in order to for them to bite in the ice. There are caves and cravassess who are temporary and can part at any moment. Hence, the importance of the experienced guide. Your heart rate will increase but your lungs will fill in with fresh air and your muscles will work double as hard.
This is for the hardcore hikers, mountaineers and climbers who want to reach a collection of summits. There is a list they usually follow and their aim is to finish them it. The physical benefits are the same with hiking and the gear also. This outdoor activity is for hikers who are so in to it that want to reach all the peaks of the trails they are hiking in. Peak bagging gives you a sense of completion and an aim, rather than hiking on random trails just for the exercise. Peakbaggers are a lovely community and a great way to meet new people with similar interests.
This activity dates from the beginning of time, humans had the need to climb up hills and mountains to explore and chart the unknown. This requires some fitness since its a strenuous exercise. It is suggested to start from an indoor climbing wall and then try out the great outdoors. Having said that it is an excellent exercise. The goal is to reach the summit without falling and get to enjoy the view from up there. There are several types of climbing: bouldering, multi-pitch climbing and top roped climbing. There are people who climb without a rope but this requires a certain level of expertise. This activity works all of your muscles, improves your health and give to the climber time to clear his head and be alone for a little bit.
Mountaineering is set of outdoor activities involving: skiing, hiking, climbing and traversing via ferratas. It requires good preparation as any outdoor activity and despite the unpredictable weather conditions, the sense of fulfillment is immense. You have to prepare yourself for the cold but you will learn necessary winter camping skills you can reuse in the future. In your training for mountaineering (yes you will need to train for it), you will learn the essential skill of self arrest and how travel with a rope as a team. It’s a great team building activity as you rely on each other and you have to communicate to one another if you’re feeling cold or tired etc. It is essential to have a guide on your first expeditions for your safety primarily. Mountaineering is an outdoor activity which I feel should be tried out last since it combines several other activities.
Skiing is one of the most popular outdoor activities. Although, it's costly at the beginning (hiring an instructor, purchasing the necessary equipment) afterwards you will only need to pay for your entrance at lifts etc. It’s an impressive hobby to have and the ladies who usually practice it are fit. Typically it is considered as a high end activity but in recent years it has become a lot more affordable therefore popular. You can make a weekend out of it (as most of us don’t live next to a mountain) or organize annual years to various ski resorts. Depending on your expertise and confidence you can hit various slopes. The resorts are a great meeting point and usually organize nice parties during their prime season.
This is for those who don’t have coordination between their legs and arms. You need to like snow of course and not mind that you will probably fall over numerous times. There are is a lot of specialized equipment and techniques which depend on your style and how advanced you are. Since it was developed from skiing and surfing, if you are a fan of either sport you will probably enjoy snowboarding as well. There are several styles (which you can try out) such as: Jibbing, Freestyle, Freeriding, Alpine snowboarding, Slopestyle, Half-pipe, Big air, Boardercross and Snowboard racing. You can try several and compete in various competitions from amateurs to pro. Again, you can stay at fancy ski resorts and enjoy your weekend with various activities.
A slot canyon is a narrow canyon, formed by the wear of water rushing through rock. First of all, you will need to choose a canyon and plan your trip accordingly. Each canyon has different features and conditions. It is a bit dangerous as a sudden rainstorm can cause flash flooding and will feel up quite quickly. The nearest exit usually is miles away and even the wooden ladders (placed for amateurs) can be swept away from the force of water. One has to read the weather forecast very carefully and even in with the slightest chance of rain postpone the trip. Despite the hazards, it’s an amazing experience to be inside a slot canyon: the landscapes are phenomenal and even photos don’t do them justice. Also, you will need to learn the basic moves in order to be able to move in the canyon and you have to be a little fit in order to do them.
Trail running is a sport/activity which combines running, and, where there are steep gradients, hiking, that is run "on any unpaved surface". You have to be a runner in order to embark on it. There is a certain level of training beforehand that goes in to but no particular equipment is needed. Nowadays, there is a trend to participate in solo backcountry trail running trips (the runner carris a superlight backpacking gear). These sort of trips are more difficult and dangerous. Trail races are organized globally and if you are into a bit of competition you can train and enter one. The overall physical benefits for the heart and cardiovascular system are huge. Trail running improves the cognitive and emotional health and the skill level required is attainable for all runners.
Mountain biking is more intense than normal biking. It requires specific types of bicycles and is more strenuous for the body. A regular cyclist can train on various mountain trails to prepare but a non-cyclist will struggle with it. You need to feel adventurous to go on a mountain biking trip but is one of the most accessible outdoor activities. This activity requires endurance, core strength and balance. Advance riders can attempt on a freeride, downhill or dirt jumping aerial maneuvers off both natural features and ramps. There are several options in fancy gear to look cool. You have to hit the gym to strengthen your whole body as it requires more than rock-solid legs and iron core. If you fail in your first trip don’t worry you have to try it again. Practice makes perfect in this sport.
It’s a similar idea to mountaineering since it encompasses movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft. It’s a multilevel activity that works the whole body and triggers the senses. The danger level is reduced if you go with a guide or an organized group. The basic skills needed are: swim dog paddle, be confident with water and not afraid of heights (so you can jump off cliffs). This activity is for adrenaline junkies who love being outdoors. You will get wet but you will enjoy a thrill ride of a lifetime. You will end up exhausted at the end of the day but the fun you will have will overcompensate for it.
Super easy if you’re not afraid of heights. Relatively cheap for an one time experience and not dangerous at all (unless something unpredictably blocks your way). You can zip line across rivers, lakes, jungles or even cities. You are securely fastened with straps and the whole experience goes by very quickly. You get a fast view of the landscapes below you and a boost of adrenaline. If you go do invest in a picture at the end of the track. It’s a nice memorabilia to show off to the ladies.
Rafting and whitewater rafting is a water-based outdoor activity where you use a raft to navigate a river. It’s a group activity and you all have to work like a well-oiled machine. The danger is relatively low, provided you know how to swim. There are several techniques depending on the type of raft you are using as well as tricks and styles. The rafting instructors are certified and provide all necessary information and precaution measures. Is classified as great team building activity and exercise. Rafting is a good alternative to swimming for those who want to be near the water but not necessarily in it.
Surfing is meant for sea lovers. People plan holidays around surfing and there are a lot of cool surfboards to buy. Somewhat dangerous (depending on the waves you aspire to catch) but a lot of fun. Nowadays, you can practice indoors with artificial waves in order to get better. There is a whole surfing culture with people make it the central focus of their lives. Start off with an instructor and practice your way to becoming a pro. You can sculpt an amazing body and the fellow surfer ladies are exceptionally hot. Once you purchase your surfboard you are pretty much set gearwise.

A funky person who likes change. Loves travelling, photography, eating and binge-watching shows. Favorite pastime is eating and of course uploading pictures of fancy food on Instagram. Sings out loud when she is writing and loves reading crime novels.
