Grailed: An exclusive menswear app
Grailed is a marketplace for bold men who want to dress to impress.
Grailed has everything a man needs yet it is also the app that causes the most controversy. Reviews vary widely and most of them are unflattering but undoubtedly, it’s filling a huge gap in the male market. Millennials are becoming more and more interested in their apparel. Men want to dress fashionably with designer brands as much a women nowadays. Not everyone can afford that. Hence, the 2 options. You can buy second-hand designer items, or you can sell yours in order to make room in your closet and money at the same time.
What is Grailed?
The idea behind Grailed, was to create a platform exclusive to men where they could buy designer fashion affordably. Therefore, there are 2 options: to shop and to sell. It’s a brilliant idea as men are becoming more and more interested in investing in high-end clothing items. Women do pay more attention to fashionable men, especially to the ones wearing designer items.
Why Grailed?
Because you can use the platform however you like. You can buy and sell without creating separate accounts. You can find brand new items as well as used ones. So, if you are looking for a vintage polo t-shirt, Grailed might be your only choice. Unlike eBay which is a generic marketplace that has at times random suggestions, Grailed is very target specific and on point.

Why use their App?
Unlike other menswear marketplaces, it offers a huge variety of items on all categories. I personally like their staff picks tab where you can easily spot the best outfits that the staff has handpicked.
This app is the example of why a young designer should hire CEO’s to run their business. Although the site’s design itself is spectacular and the collaborations Ronnie Fieg (the designer) made with other brands are impressive, the app is not running smoothly. As soon as it was launched in November, it crashed.
It’s working now and has great features which allow you to customise your preference so every time you log in the items that pop up are according to your size and tastes.
What I don’t like about Grailed?
The problem is that most customers are unsatisfied with their customer support. The site can’t effectively control the quality of the seller’s item and whether it is shipped properly. It has received multiple bad reviews, but it is the only man shopping application which offers second-hand designer outerwear.
My delivery actually came through ok, but I was dreading to open the box after reading the reviews. Their products are amazing and well worth it but I feel if they want to be taken seriously they should fix their customer support and take note of their customers feedback.
Despite the fact that they overcame the crashing off the app (as mentioned above) still they don’t come through in customer service. There’s a huge rant online about their bad customer support, shoes that never got delivered or worst delivered worn.

What are the special features?
The ‘‘Read’’ tab is an interesting feature with fashion tips and trends. The innovation this app brought is the fact that it simplified the selling process indefinitely. Another great feature is that you can see the sellers’ feedback and rating and you can also follow them to check out what they will list next. Their ultimate feature “Bumped”. After 30 days if your listing is unsold it automatically gets “Bumped” to the top of the page and the price goes 10% down. You can save a lot of money if you have an item in your lookout list and suddenly it gets a 10% down automatically.
What I love about Grailed?
Despite the numerous rants online I had a pleasant shopping experience on their app now that all issues are fixed. The outfits loaded quickly, and the picture quality helped a lot with accuracy. I love the idea behind Grailed but I think it’s a shame they don’t invest more time in to ameliorating their customer support and figuring out a more effective way to resolve disputes between sellers and buyers. Still, the items offered are amazing and some times almost impossible to find elsewhere.
Tip: Save items in your list and wait for their price to drop a month later. It doesn’t always work since someone might snatch it before you but it’s worth the try.
