Farfetch: Fetching you out of reach fashion
If you are a simple non-branded T-shirt man, Farfetch is not for you. This fashion app is dedicated to expensive brands, for men who love luxury items.
Stereotypically men don’t really care if their t-shirt comes from a designer boutique or supermarket basket. Maybe that was true like 20 years ago but today more than ever men shop for designer outfits. Most modern men will be able to recognize all major brands by their logo and probably will try to own at least one item of their preferred brand.
Farfetch boasts a long list of designer items from shoes to shirts to bow ties to accessories to anything an iconic man will need for any occasion. They offer international shipping and have a permanent sales tab (50% or more) that you can roam till you locate your dream designer item.
What is Farfetch?
Farfetch is the product of a genius entrepreneur who saw a gap in the market and filled it. The gap was the lack of a single site offering exclusively designer items from countless brands. Farfetch is constantly growing and becoming one of the most high-end shopping apps.
You can only shop here if your budget is rather large as it represents the larger brands, as well as smaller exclusive boutiques. That is essentially one of the reasons iconic men go to it. You can access designer items that otherwise wouldn’t be able to get a hold of.
Why Farfetch?
The site represents more than 300 brands and some of them don’t even have an online site! Therefore, if you want to buy a shirt exclusively sold in a Chicago boutique that doesn’t deliver, your only call is Farfetch. And that’s how this site filled the gap in the market. Even boutique owners from around the world buy merchandise from the site to supply their stores. Plus, their international delivery is super-fast.
Why use their app Farfetch?
Their app is easy to use and pretty standardized. They offer a flat shipping fee depending on the price of your purchases. The perk is that you can order items from various brands, but the shipping cost won’t change. The fee is calculated on your cheapest and fastest delivery option. I think that all designer apps should offer free delivery option as the items purchased are well expensive.
The app loads quickly and you can browse through hundreds of items in minutes. The pictures of the items are HD quality and you can zoom in very closely which allows you to assess the quality of the items.

What I don’t like about Farfetch?
My verdict is quite complicated. Many customers complain online that they received empty packages or had trouble with the customer support of the site. Personally, I never had a problem with any of the products and when I've ordered a gift, it came in lovely packaging. Having said that, I never had to return anything. Also, I would love even bigger discounts on items from older seasons.
What are the special features?
The app is pretty much a mirror image of the site. What makes it special is the quick loading time and the great quality of pictures. Their filters (once applied) also load very quickly so you won’t waste time waiting. I really like their shop by filter where you can select the gift edit, the most wanted, the travel, the conscious etc. I think it’s a time saver. Also, the pre-owned tab is super smart as most items listed there are practically new with minor defects.
What I love about Farfetch?
The fact that so many brands are literally at my fingertips. Most of the items in Farfetch are cheaper than purchasing it at the actual brand’s site or even shop. I like how their site is separated in sections and how I can filter down to a peg so I won’t get excited about items that I can’t afford in the next 7 years or so. And yes, I always select at the sale discount tab the +60% discount, I am known for my scavenging of good designer bargains.
I also L-O-V-E that the items get delivered right to your doorstep. Firstly, you avoid the trip to the post office. Secondly, no taxes! Score!
Tip: Once you find an item you love, go to the actual brand’s website (unless they don’t have one) and price compare. Take into consideration the shipping fees and see what your cheaper option is.
